Group Meeting

After we had all spent the week creating work, we all met up on Monday and discussed what we had been doing. We were all on track to creating final pieces and all of our work were linking which was the main thing.

One thing we did realise was that we were all creating a lot of work and would have a huge amount to submit so it would be best to lower the amounts. With Dan creating the book cover, it would make sense to have that as the cover of the zine. Elizabeth had been creating some really nice illustrations that were drawn in a similar style to screen printing, so she was happy to screen print her illustrations and then have them in the zine; I thought they would work well because they’re black and white and it would break up all the text in the zine. We had another person join the group today, Aiden. Beki was illustrating scenes from the text and she suggested for Aiden to do that too.

Other people’s work so far (the only images I have):

Izzy’s poster:

We all liked Izzy’s poster but we suggested to change the colours slightly because there were too many. The red, yellow and black (flag/soldier) work really well but other colours didn’t really balance well. Overall though, the design of the poster work really well and really ties in with the design of posters in the time of the Spanish Civil War.
